The Smart Fruit Phenomics Team at the Blueberry Breeding and Genomics Laboratory is looking for students interested in applying engineering solutions for classifying blueberries. The team study methods for using robotic devices for improving multimodal phenotypic data and provide plant breeders with more accurate data.
We are looking for students with experience / interest on the following areas
- Mechanical and electrical design (Fast prototyping, 3d printers, microcontrollers)
- Computer vision / A.I. (Yolo, R-CNN models, autoencoders)
- Speech recognition / A.I. (Transformations: FFT, regression models)
Compensation:
$14 / hour (20h / week)
Field of Study:
Computer Science and related areas
Required:
- Be able to work in loco
- Be willing to explore and to find alternative solutions
- Be open to participate in all the steps of the research. It may include data collection and labelling, field visit, setup of computer environment and devices, among others.
